INTERNET shoppers are being ‘bombarded with annoying and intrusive’ emails from Jersey online retailers, even when they have ‘unsubscribed’ from their websites.

The Data Protection Office has received a number of local and international complaints and has warned the companies that they could end up in court for failing to remove customers from their databases.

Deputy data protection commissioner Paul Vane said that they had started issuing enforcement notices to the worst culprits and would not hesitate to take them to court if they failed to comply.

‘This has been going on for a while, but there has been a definite increase in complaints over the last few months,’ he said. ‘People have been trying to unsubscribe from emails, which they have a right to do, but they are not getting anywhere. ‘

Talk about creating jobs out of thin air!
No wonder we have such a whopping deficit.

Spring heeled jack…..No, THIS one is a deputy “pata” protection commissioner.Anyway, the states need two people for every position…..police chief, treasurer chief etc etc. Cutting the size of the states administration to an affordable level is wishful thinking. That is, until it is a requirement of the international monetary fund as part of a bale out package when we go bust.

There’s a great trick for this. I like to set up a forward that sends their mail straight back to one of their own email addresses….muchos jokes!!

I would like to see a stop to the flaming telecos sending text messages about the latest special offer to my mobile phone! It annoys me no end!

Is this Paul Vane a resident or brought in from the UK to bolster the population level?

I must admit these sort of jobs seem to be replicating at the same speed as the tribbles did in Star Trek, to me, so it is no wonder we are going under!
