JERSEY manager Jon Welsh has hinted that there could be one or two new caps in his starting team away to Alderney in the Kleinwort Benson Muratti semi-final on Saturday afternoon.

Birthday boy Welsh last night named his final squad of 18 players for the trip to the northern isle, but he has not announced his starting line-up as Jersey Wanderers midfielder Chris Andrews and St Paul’s striker Craig Leitch are both currently carrying injuries.

Welsh said: ‘Chris has a calf injury while Craig has a bruised foot. I’m not sure at the moment about Chris but Craig’s is not as serious because it is a bruise and not a strain.

‘We are training again this evening and I’ll see what happens and take it from there. We’ve had two good sessions this week already; Portuguese Club striker Cliff Silva has settled in well following his first inclusion in the squad and everyone is looking forward to the game.’
