JAILED drugs baron Curtis Warren is expected to be flown back to the Island under armed guard tomorrow to begin his appeal.
He is attempting to quash his sentence and conviction for masterminding a plot to execute Jersey’s biggest ever drugs importation.
One of Britain’s most notorious criminals, the 46-year-old gangster – who is currently serving a 13-year jail term in London’s high-security Belmarsh prison – is due to appear in the Royal Court of Appeal tomorrow with his five co-conspirators.
In October, Warren – nicknamed ‘Cocky’ by his underworld associates – Jonathon Welsh (43), originally of Liverpool, James O’Brien (45), of Glasgow, and Paul Hunt (27), Jason Woodward (22) of Kent and Oliver Lucas (23) from Jersey were convicted by a jury of scheming to flood the Island with £1 million of cannabis from mainland Europe.
