Women win hockey inter-insular

THE top honours were divided at this year’s Investec hockey inter-insulars on Saturday at Les Quennevais.

The men’s first team suffered a devastating 3-2 defeat going down with the last play of the game although the women retained their crown with a 3-2 victory as Jersey doubled their win rate to four victories overall.

There was success for the men’s second team 3-1 but Guernsey took the honours in the fixtures for third and fourth teams by the same score and in the sixth team, 4-1.

However, the over-40s veterans romped to a 10-1 triumph. The Jersey women’s second team joined their first team with a win, 2-0, but the third team went down 4-0.
