A WOMAN suffered head injuries when she was hit by a car as she tried to cross six lanes of traffic during last night’s rush hour.

This morning, the 34-year-old was in a stable condition in the intensive care unit of the Hospital.

The accident happened at around 6 pm on Route de la Libération.
It is believed the woman was trying to cross the road about halfway between the western end of the underpass and the traffic lights at the Gloucester Street junction.

She was hit by a blue Ford Fiesta which was travelling west in the outside lane close to the central island.
