A MOVE by a States department to survey Jersey businesses on their profit levels last year has been rebuffed.
Jersey Enterprise wanted the Jersey Chamber of Commerce to partly fund a survey of profits made by Island firms during 2009.
But the idea was rejected by the body that represents hundreds of Jersey companies, because it carries out its own surveys of how member businesses are performing.
The president of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Ray Shead said: ‘We conduct our own surveys and have recently published our business confidence survey, which showed confidence returning to the Jersey economy.’
