Monday 29th March 2010, 3:00PM BST.

Stanley Gibbons chairman Martin Bralsford
JERSEY-based Stanley Gibbons Group, which trades in stamps, historic documents, rare signatures and other collectibles, recorded an 11 per cent increase in profits to £4.1m. The group’s sales were up by 20 per cent to £23.4m.
Chairman Martin Bralsford said that the group, established 154 years ago, had also realised important strategic objectives, including opening a new investment office in Jersey, its first trading presence in the Island.
He says in his chairman’s statement: ‘In a year that has witnessed many other businesses struggle to generate revenue growth it is pleasing to report substantial growth in both sales and profitability.’
He also points out that the group faces an important period this year. Among other projects, it will have a major presence at the International Stamp Show in London in May.
