Bug closes second ward at Hospital

A virus has struck at the General Hospital and Overdale
TWO Hospital wards have now been closed following an outbreak of a vomiting bug.
Corbière Ward was shut yesterday, just four days after Portelet Ward was closed following an outbreak of Norovirus.Samarès Ward at Overdale Hospital has also been closed and a number of care homes have been affected.
Four Hospital operations were cancelled yesterday, but all urgent and emergency admissions as well as admissions to the Day Surgery Unit are being accepted as normal.
It is believed that about 19 patients and at least 25 nursing staff have been struck down by the virus over the last week.
