A total nightmare getting to work this morning. For some reason the Police kept the Avenue closed well after the ‘water spray’ danger had ceased.

Years ago it used to be Journalists who used to take these pictures.Nowadays they can’t get off their backsides and just rely on the public to send them.

Yet more incompetence. Mind you I see it daily now it doesn’t come as a shock anymore.
Victoria avenue was closed to west bound traffic. Surely someone in change could have made the east bound part of the avenue two way to get around this issue, or if this was too difficult why not make the inner road two lane westbound for the morning?
Thats what I would have done to save man hours. Mind you I suppose it doesn’t really matter as big business will be absorbing this lost time.

For safety reasons the avenue and the st clements coast road had to be closed but someone should have had the savvy to realize that it was a large spring tide at the worst time, and the weather was forecast days ahead to be rough, so why not make an announcemount to the public the day before warning of disruption.
