A JERSEY company has won a contract to work with the Mexican government to recycle 40 million tyres and improve the country’s environment in doing so.
EHS Global Solutions, which is based in Aquila Road, has patented a unique process that allows 100 per cent of a tyre to be recycled back to its constituent parts.
And in utilising its technology in Mexico the firm will help reduce the threat to human health.
Chief executive Bill Findlay said that the Mexican deal was worth US$125 million over ten years and was the first major tyre contract the firm had secured.
He said that the Jersey-based company was entering a joint venture arrangement with a Mexican business and work would begin this summer.
