Inter-insular cross-country

JERSEY won seven team events to Guernsey’s four in the cross-country inter-insular held at Les Creux last Saturday, but they lost the senior men’s and senior women’s events.

The Island side won the men’s over 50s event – with Jersey’s Nick Gorrod taking the individual honours – the under 13 boys and U17 boys’ events.

They also claimed – with no challenge from Guernsey – the U15 girls’ and boys’ races as well as the veteran and senior veteran women’s events.

As well as winning the senior men’s and women’s races – individual winners being Guernsey’s Steve Dawes and Louise Perrio – Guernsey won the men’s over 40s event – won by Guernsey’s Alan Rowe - and the U13 girls’ competition, which they gained by just one point.
