Why are we allowing such tat to be built?

Friday 23rd April 2010, 2:59PM BST.

From Barbara Clarke.
REF Constable Crowcroft’s threat to rebel against ministers re the promised town park, for once I am in full agreement with him having the tenacity to buck against the system, so well done him.

I do feel, however, that it is time for all citizens to down tools and find out exactly why Dandara has such a hold over Jersey, just why they are allowed to keep building, and who is allowing all these – mostly – follies to continue to ruin our beloved Jersey.

Look at what has happened to our local builders, nearly all gone, and Jersey is the loser. Most local builders were true craftsmen, having served their apprenticeship and made buildings to last, not like the Walt Disney tat that people are having to endure now.

Talk about something rotten in the state of Denmark.

Why did Mr Crowcroft not ‘buck against the system’ when he noticed plans for a rediculous incinerator to be built on the doorstep of local people and on a coastline.

Totally agree with your POV. Jersey Planners don’t seem to (ironically)have a plan. When you look at some of the boxes that have been allowed in iconic locations you wonder how these plans were ever let through. Money certainly talks in Jersey!!!

How real is the high paid topless models rumour?

I’ve always hoped that Beauport could become an official naturist beach but perhaps it should be Portelet?

Portelet, Jersey’s answer to Cap d’Agde.

Now there’s a diversification suggestion for Adrian!
