IT could not have gone any better for Jersey’s Dominion Winter Netball League champions against Guernsey’s best on Sunday.
Three Upton matches and three wins away from home, at Beau Sejour on Sunday afternoon, capped off a fantastic season for the Island against their Sarnian counterparts.
St Clement A, the Division I champions, breezed to a 44-21 triumph over Nerine A; St Lawrence C, Division 2 champions, emerged victorious 26-22 against Heritage Hawks; and Division III champions Accies D won a convincing 45-20 victory over Nerine J.
JNA president Jackie Nelson said: ‘It was a brilliant day for Jersey netball and all three teams pulled together and supported each other. The biggest thing from the day, the most noticeable, was that the Jersey sides were truly fired up but apart from Guernsey’s second division team they seemed jaded, I don’t know why, but it was a shame.
