Tough time for mail order firm

MAIL order group Flying Brands continues to have a tough time and has issued a profits warning in advance of its annual general meeting.
An interim trading statement made this week by the St Lawrence-headquartered group said that poor weather last month affected bedding plant sales.
But there was some good news, in that it appears the Jersey-based company will not be affected by the disruption to air transport as a result of the volcanic ash.
However, the travel disruption has led to the firm’s agm being postponed. It was supposed to have been held last Tuesday but has been adjourned until Wednesday 12 May.
