The entrance to the Magistrate's Court
THE carer of a mentally ill patient who died has been charged with neglect.
Australian-born Julie-Ann Breen (45) denies the charge. She had been employed privately on a three-week contract to care for the elderly woman in her own home in St Ouen.
Ms Breen appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday and denied ill-treating or wilfully neglecting Ann Spring – who was believed to have been in her 80s – between 21 February and 17 March.
Miss Breen, the court heard, had spent six weeks in custody following her arrest but was released on bail earlier this month.
