JERSEY Telecom is likely to be forced to reveal the true costs of running its separate wholesale and retail operations in future.

Rival phone firms have made it clear that they believe that true competition cannot be achieved until JT produces separate accounts for its wholesale and retail businesses.

The subject of JT’s accounting processes dominated a mini-debate on the future of the telecom industry arranged by the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors.

The debate at the Grand Hotel on Thursday evening was attended by about 120 people and chaired by Dr Ian Jauncey from IT services business Itex.
