Island flag will fly high at Twickenham

The Jersey flag
THE Island flag will be proudly flying at Twickenham this Saturday.
Jersey Rugby Club, who will be making their first ever appearance at the home of English rugby in the National III Champions Cup final, have decided that it is more appropriate that the Island flag has place of honour, rather than the club standard, before the match against Midlands champions Ampthill, which kicks-off at the new time of 2 pm.
Despite limited travel options Jersey expect a tremendous support of around 600 for the finale to their greatest ever season. The team and many of their supporters will be heading back to the Island after the match for their end of season members-all-ticket awards and celebration evening at the clubhouse in St Peter. Should be quite an evening – whatever the result on the day.
Chairman Bill Dempsey, who is also hoping to arrange some form of meeting for the Jersey supporters at Twickenham prior to the match (the Level Five championship decider is the main game of three on the day and is thus given the prime middle spot of 2 pm) is keen to remind supporters that the evening celebration is by ticket only.
