THE first two day event of the motocross season takes place this weekend with the Jersey Gas Cross Championship.

The featured classes for the weekend, sponsored by Jersey Gas, are the two top adult groups, MX1 and MX2, and spectators can expect some thrilling riding as the hot shot riders battle it out.

In the MX1 class Dale Campbell will be looking to build on his advantage over Carl Walbridge and Jake Pearce from Guernsey as well as increase his lead in the overall Grand Final standings over Declan Hussey and Sam Allix.

The MX2 class is another close affair as Ben Le Cornu looks to hold off the ever improving class newcomer Sam Allix. Phil Le Feuvre is also showing some very promising form of late and watch out, too, for Dan Moon who has fully recovered from recent injury with some very strong finishes at the last two events.

Practice at Sorel Point starts at 10 am with racing from 11 am on both days.
