THE sight of foreigners digging beneath the walls of Mont Orgueil would once have terrified Islanders.

However, the small army that has been camped at the Island’s most impressive stronghold has come with peaceful intent.

Channel Four’s Time Team has been filming at the castle this week while doing a three-day dig to try to unlock the secrets of one of Jersey’s best-known historical sites.

The 60-strong team of archaeologists and TV crew, led by Blackadder star and TV presenter Tony Robinson and archaeologist Phil Harding, are filming for their 18th series, due for broadcast next year.

Why the heck were they digging outside for treasures? no-one would of left anything outstide.

If they had common sense they would be looking inside for treasuer, some of the blocked off areas or even the old wells. I am sure there is lots to be found in these area.
