Fantastic field to tackle North Run
Saturday 22nd May 2010, 3:01PM BST.
AN all-time record number of entries could be reached in the 22nd Co-operative Total Sport Fantastic North Run half marathon tomorrow.
With an online entry system and excellent weather forecast, organiser Paul Raimbault confirmed that 490 entries had already been received, which is edging all the time closer to the highest number ever recorded, 507, in the inaugural race in 1989.
Last year’s respective men’s and ladies’ winners Steve Dawes and Sarah Davis are yet to put their names down for the event and although entry is available on the day, it could be two different names on the winners’ trophies this year.
Likely contenders included full distance Marathon regulars Jo Gorrod and Claire Forbes along with another former Jersey Marathon winner, Andrew Hennessy, who is entered in the men’s event.
