Champions move back to top after beating Optimus
Monday 24th May 2010, 2:59PM BST.
CHAMPIONS Rathbone Old Victorians moved to the top of the Premier Division table on Saturday following a six-wicket win against Optimus.
At FB 1, Optimus finished their 45 overs on 182 for seven after Island openers Matt Hague and Ryan Driver put on 86 runs for the first wicket.
Driver was dropped by Jonny Gough in the first over, a difficult catch low down which he got a hand too. It was a costly mistake as Driver went on to top score hitting five boundaries off 105 balls before being stumped by wicket-keeper Bobby Minty for 58.
OVs went on to win by six wickets with two overs to spare with captain and opener Peter Gough top-scoring with 78 runs. Gough faced 120 balls while hitting the boundary nine times.
