ISLANDERS will find out tonight who will contest the States seat left vacant by the disqualification of Senator Stuart Syvret.

The nomination meeting for the Senatorial by-election is due to be held at the Town Hall.
At least nine candidates are expected to be nominated at the Town Hall meeting, with a late entrant or two likely at the meeting itself.

Under the rules for nomination meetings, candidates do not get a chance to outline their policies at the events, but are introduced by a nomination speech from the person proposing them for office.

Former Senator Stuart Syvret, Deputy Geoff Southern, former Deputies Patrick Ryan and Gerard Baudains, Susette Hase, Phil Maguire, Nick Le Cornu, Francis Le Gresley and Gino Risoli have all said that they will be nominated at tonight’s meeting ahead of the election on 16 June.

The meeting starts at 7.30 pm
