A collision involving a bus and a car at around 12.30 pm on the Route de Maufant required assistance from the Fire Service to remove the door Picture: JERSEY FIRE AND RESCUE
TWELVE crashes were reported yesterday after the first heavy showers for weeks made Jersey’s roads dangerously slippery.
One woman had to be cut from her vehicle by firefighters after a crash with a bus on Route de Maufant at about 12.30 pm. They used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the door and paramedics placed her on a spinal board after she complained of severe chest pain.
None of the crashes was thought to be very serious, although two people from separate accidents were taken to hospital. It is thought that a 26-year-old woman involved in a crash on Route des Augerez, St Peter, at 4.18 pm suffered a broken collarbone.
A 17-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a minor leg injury following a crash with a car in St Saviour’s Road at about 4.25 pm, but was later discharged.
