Senator has earned my respect
Thursday 27th May 2010, 2:58PM BST.
From Simon Wells.
WITH reference to former Senator Ted Vibert’s letter (JEP, 21 May). He said he would like Stuart Syvret to explain what he was doing for six months while he was out of the Island.
He also mentions the critic at the public meeting who asked the same question. However, this question was credited with what I, personally, thought was a very honest and straightforward answer. Was Ted Vibert at this meeting or not?
I may not have agreed with Stuart Syvret about everything in the past, but I have to say that after all the work he has done for his constituents, he has most certainly earned my respect.
Without wanting to sound personal, this man may have had enough odds in his favour to one day put egg on a lot of people’s faces.

Oh, I certainly hope so. C’mon Syvret!

Speak for yourself Simon Wells.
Personally I think this man’s behaviour just beggars belief.

Egg on peoples faces? 2 years Syvret has been running his blog and nobody has egg on their face apart from him up to now.
A very sad letter indeed.

There are only two effective candidates in this election. The rest are just there for protest votes.
Deputy Southern already has a seat so that if he became a Senator that would lead to to another election and more expense.
Former Senator Syvret has acquired a lot of experience and always offers a different point of view to the conventional ones. I have been impressed with some things he has done in the past and was very pleased when he was able to get the ban on smoking in places of work through the States and into law.
I will vote for Mr. Syvret again.

The only people who would vote for a person thats accomplished nothing measurable in 20 years and spent the last 6 months behaving like a spoilt child must have no foresight fpr Jersey whatsoever.
