No fewer than 13 beaches made the top grade

JERSEY beaches are in the best shape they have been in 17 years, according to results in this year’s national Good Beach Guide.

A record number of Island beaches have been recommended in the guide, which is put together by the Marine Conservation Society.

A total of 13 out of 16 local beaches passed the stringent water quality tests to make it into the publication.

The results mean that the quality of Jersey’s bathing water is at its peak since sampling analysis began in 1992.

As always that is good news. I wish they would ensure that the beach location information was accurate. Beauport in St.Helens! St.Ouens at St.Aubyns(sic) and the description and picture of Portelet is totally wrong (small harbour?and it is shown as at St.Pierre du Bois. It rather undermines the authority of the good news.
