The incinerator project has earned Camerons and partners Spie Batignolles a national award for considerate construction
THE company building the new incinerator at La Collette has been given a national award for considerate construction.
Camerons Ltd is the first Jersey construction company to be recognised in this way.
In association with partner firm Spie Batignolles, Camerons was recognised at the Considerate Constructors Scheme 2010 National Site Awards for its work on the energy-from-waste plant.
Camerons project director Andy Simm collected the award at a ceremony in London attended by about 2,500 people.

National award for considerate construction? are you kidding?
The thing is a carbuncle located on a prime site, if they had wanted to place a dog ugly building in a location where everyone could see it they couldn’t have picked a better spot. I bet seafront property prices have dived since this monstrosity began to spoil the skyline.

This a joke right? “a national award for considerate construction”
If that’s the case, I’d hate to see the projects that it beat to the award!
The new EFW plant is an absolute eyesore!

The award is about how considorate the contractor are – and well done to Camerons for winning it. It’s not their fault they’ve been asked to build an ugly inappropriate building – that’s the fault of the designer and those who commissioned it.

The new plant looks just like a – well, an incinerator – disgraceful! Should have been done in granite, and made to look like Hamptonne (only with a bigger chimney praps).
I bet Camerons thought getting an award for considerateness was good news – but not yere, mah luv, not yere.
