Boy badly hurt in pier-jumping accident

A TEENAGE boy was being treated in Southampton Hospital today after suffering serious injuries in a pier jumping accident.
The 15-year-old is believed to have sustained severe back injuries and cuts to his face after he plunged more than 12 feet off Bouley Bay pier and landed on a boat.
He was treated by paramedics at the harbour before being taken from the scene on a spinal board.
The teenager, who has not been named, underwent further treatment at the General Hospital following the incident on Friday afternoon. He was flown to the UK to undergo specialist treatment the following day.
