Guthrie bids for Delhi spot
Tuesday 8th June 2010, 3:00PM BST.
INTERNATIONAL netballer Serena Guthrie is confident she has what it takes to make her debut at this year’s Commonwealth Games.
Guthrie, aged 20, jets off to Australia this week with the England team who are set to embark on a tough tour with eight matches in 11 days lined up against ANZ Championship teams.
The Bath player believes this will be the perfect opportunity to prove she deserves a ticket on the plane to Delhi, India, for the Commonwealths which take place from 3-14 October.
She said: ‘I think I’ve got a good chance of going, I just need to play well in Australia so that the coach has no reason to deselect me.’
