Waterfront body to be Island-wide developer?

THE body responsible for the development of the Waterfront, including the cinema and nightclub complex, could effectively soon be in charge of developing public land across the Island.
The Council of Ministers has tabled a States proposition calling for the creation of a new company – the Jersey Development Company – which will replace the Waterfront Enterprise Board.
The project has been on the cards since the start of ministerial government. Two previous attempts to expand WEB into an Islandwide body called the JDC or the Jersey Enterprise Board have failed because the States have been less than impressed with what the Waterfront agency has delivered.
