Guernsey win CI golf finals

JERSEY’S Stephen Purdie was beaten by Guernsey’s Danny Blondel in yesterday’s Channel Islands Golf Championship final.
In excellent conditions at the l’ancresse course in Guernsey, Blondel won his first Channel Islands championship with a 3 and 2 victory in a hard fought match scheduled for 36 holes.
In the women’s final, La Moye’s Jenny Deeley, looking for her seventh win in the championship, was beaten by Guernsey’s Jean Mills.
And the junior championship went to Guernsey’s Sam Le Huray, who beat Nick Wildman.
