JERSEY’S only cinema will be able to show live sporting events within the next three years after Cineworld announced it would be upgrading all of its screens to digital.

The cinema giant, which runs the Island’s cinema at the Waterfront, is spending £30 million over the next three years to upgrade all of its 77 cinemas to the new technology.

No date has yet been fixed for Jersey’s upgrade, but once in place Islanders will be able to enjoy live sport, live opera, theatre, comedy and gaming on the big screen.

The development also paves the way for sporting and other live events to be shown at the cinema in 3D.

This is the same cinema that was touted as being worth more demolished and redeveloped some time ago ? as was the entire area – note Chicago and Liquids demise.
Let’s be realistic here – does anyone actually think that KFC, The Bar,PizzaHut or CineWorld for that matter will all still even be there in 3 years !
Money talks in Jersey, and like the AquaSplash, unless heavily subsidised, all of those businesses are making a loss.

    Dandara Phase 3 anyone ?
Bargains to be had for anyone who fancies a sub-sized 1 Bed apartment with no parking for 200k + 3yrs inflation.

Go on – tell me I’m wrong – you can’t though.

    Can you ?
