OECD reviews tax standards
Tuesday 15th June 2010, 3:00PM BST.
A TEST of how the Island has responded to standards set by the OECD on the exchange of tax information has just been completed by assessors from Denmark and Bermuda.
They were examining the Island’s effectiveness in complying with requirements on exchange of information in tax matters.
The work was completed only last week and the results are not yet known, according to the States director of international tax, Wendy Martin, but it is highly likely that the outcome will be a positive one, as Jersey has been leading the way on setting standards on exchange of tax information.
Mrs Martin revealed that the assessment had been carried out when she spoke to an audience of business leaders at a lunch arranged by the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors at the Grand Hotel.
