HOSTING the 2015 Island Games in Jersey will give people a ‘time to shine’.

That is the message representatives from the Island’s 2015 bid committee will take with them to the Isle of Wight this week as the battle between Jersey and Gotland to host the biennial event in five years time reaches its climax.

Representatives will be in the Isle of Wight from Thursday to look around the host venue for the NatWest 2011 Games ahead of the annual general meeting of the International Island Games Association on Sunday.

The last item at this meeting will be to decide who will host the Games in 2015 and Jersey will take to the stage to make a final 20-minute presentation, after Gotland, which will include video action from the Island and a message from the Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant-General Andrew Ridgway.

    GO Gotland

Jersey dont support all sports in Jersey – hence the reason why my sport will be dropped from the Games if held in Jersey (despite me over the years winning a total of 20 island games medals for Jersey in the past

    Go Go Gotland

My vote goes to Gotland because they unlike Jersey have included Gymnastics which is a sport I feel passionate about.
