Treasury Minister flies out to Chinese banking forum

JERSEY’S finance industry is hoping to strengthen its reputation in the Far East after Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf was invited to attend an international banking forum in China.
The minister flew out to Hong Kong on Tuesday ahead of the Lujiazui Forum, which will be held in Shanghai over the weekend.
He is due to meet a number of officials, including the British Consulate-General and the head of listings at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange before flying to China later this week.
Senator Ozouf is being accompanied by John Harris, the director general of the Jersey Financial Services Commission, and Jersey Finance’s head of Greater China business development, Zhaoan Li.
