JERSEY athletes can expect a ‘smaller’ than normal 2011 NatWest Island Games when the competition moves to the Isle of Wight next year.

That is the early impression of Steve Jacobs, chairman of the Island Games Association of Jersey, who was yesterday touring some of the sports and accommodation venues for the next Games.

Jacobs and Derek de la Haye, assistant director of Education, Sport, and Culture, have joined delegates from almost all of the 25 International Island Games Association member islands, together with the IGA executive committee, on the visit.
