THE man whose body was found at the foot of cliffs at Portelet on Saturday evening was named this morning as Alessandro Ferrero.

Mr Ferrero, aged 38, of Vallée des Vaux, was born in Italy and was a fund administrator at State Street, formerly Mourant.

He was spotted on rocks by a member of the public from a boat at around 8.45 pm on Saturday and the inshore lifeboat was called.

A spokesman for the States police said that it was not yet clear how the man had died, nor how long he had been there but added that they were not treating his death as suspicious.
