Wednesday 30th June 2010, 3:00PM BST.
ST JOHN lifted the S E Guy Memorial Trophy final for the third time last night following a nine-wicket victory against Aztec Springfield at Grainville.
The parish club, who defended the trophy, came home with 2.4 overs to spare following an excellent unbroken second-wicket partnership of 86 runs between Mark Chipperfield and captain John Evans.
Chipperfield struck five boundaries to finish on 42 while Evans hit three fours and one six to finish on 49.
Evans said: ‘I was happy to restrict Springfield to 107 for six in 12 overs because they are a young and dangerous side.’
