AN impressive century opening partnership by the Dewhurst brothers laid the foundations for IntrasoftTech Walkovers’ victory in the JEP Brighter KO Cup final last night.
Bradley Vautier’s team were twice runners-up in previous JEP finals, twice runners-up in S E Guy Memorial Trophy finals while moving up to Division I and twice beaten finalists in the NatWest Indoor League.
Vautier said: ‘At last, a cup final victory and, obviously, I’m delighted.
‘We had a fantastic start; Andy and Sam started the ball rolling really well. Sam was on top first and then Andy caught up quickly and they got their half centuries around the same time.
‘It was a magnificent opening stand and it helped us put on a very competitive total of 175 for three and I was very happy about that.’

Both of them excellent cricketers, but surely Sam is the most underrated batsman in Jersey? Definitely the second best Jersey born batsman after Peter Gough. It is a shame this is not recognised over here.

The most delusional comment I have ever heard.
Yes, well done on a mighty knock in the JEP Cup final, but to say the most underrated local bat in Jersey behind Peter Gough is an insult. Surely Jonny Gough is the second best bat?
What has the guy done to deserve this tag. From what I saw on the website when following the Nepal trip, he got pumped all over the place and got no runs when given the opportunity.
I would say he needs to put some performances on the board before you can make those comments. Actually one 100 with the bat on a Saturday match will do for me…Actually a 50 would be a start…
