WITH so many depressing letters being published in the JEP of late, I hope you will print this one and its happier content.

A party of ladies from La Moye Women’s Institute went to Dinan for the weekend of 26 June, courtesy of Go France.

Apart from appreciating and viewing the historic beauty of the place, we also remembered that Brian Masterman wrote his monthly letter to the JEP from there and we wondered if he would meet up with our group and have a chat with us about his work and views, living and working, as he does, in Dinan.

Well, meet with us he did and what a lovely time we spent with him, he full of news and views about working and living in France, and we full of news and views about what was going on in Jersey.

We even got to see pictures of the ‘Mastaiirmaaan’ family, of whom we so often read about in his reports. A lovely, friendly gentleman – Jersey, of course, by origin. Thank you Brian.

Now, we wonder if Helier Clement would do a meeting with the WI? Ah well, only a thought. Anonymity prevails, we guess.
