Josh Band, right, in quarter-final action against eventual tournament winner Paul McCreery of Ireland
JERSEY’S players returned from the Senior Schools’ International Table Tennis Championships in Limerick with their best set of results to date.
Seven Appleby Academy members competed at under-18, U16 and U14 levels against England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
U18s Luke Walker and Josh Band narrowly missed out on winning a team event medal.
Jersey Table Tennis Association development officer Craig Gascoyne said: ‘This was our best tournament yet at this international level. I was pleased with everyone and Luke and Josh and Kelsey Le Maistre were unlucky to miss out on a medal.’
