Brilliant day at Les Ormes

LES ORMES Golf Club will face Alresford GC in the next round of the Hampshire Seven-a-side tournament, following their superb performance in the Channel Islands final at the weekend.

But it was a nail-biting first CI final victory for the team, managed jointly by Dale Martin and Neil Kelly, beating Guernsey visitors L’Ancresse four matches to three at Les Ormes.

Winning team member Paul Wood said: ‘What a brilliant day for our club and we’re all delighted.

‘It’s been a tremendous effort from everyone who has represented us in the earlier rounds and in the final; it’s been a fantastic venture for us and we want to keep this good running going for as long as possible.’
