JERSEY Finance and one of China’s biggest law firms have launched a secondment programme that will allow Island lawyers to gain experience in the world’s biggest economy.

And as a result Claire O’Boyle of Carey Olsen and Lauren Fletcher from Ogier are heading to the Far East later this month for three months of work experience.

They will be the first Islanders on the programme to work in the Shanghai office of the legal giant King & Wood. And early next year staff from the Chinese firm will come to Jersey to gain experience in various firms here.
