Abuse inquiry watchdog ‘was ignored’
Monday 19th July 2010, 2:59PM BST.
A GROUP set up to be the eyes and ears of the public during the historical abuse inquiry have revealed their frustrations at being continually kept in the dark.
Speaking openly for the first time since their appointment, some members of the independent advisory group told the JEP that ‘the lack of input and clarity experienced by them exacerbated their frustrations and eventually led to a breakdown of trust with the [police] force’.

Well well, there’s a surprise…I suppose the honest and open approach of the powers that be inspired the group and validated their deepest fears.

Hardly surprising seeing as coconut Lenny Harper ran the show.
This group could of spoken out louder at the time though?

Whats the point in being a “watchdog” if havn’t got the strength of character to speak up at the time, but seem to have now, horse, gate & bolted come to mind or is this all part of the “spin” to make these people look even worse than being alleged in the media already.

who was the group?
were they free?
no doubt they discovered “the jersey way”
frankly its too late , we are crying over spilt milk.

The coconut detective promised everything but achieved little, other than to briefly boost his own ego, chasing false leads.
For the true victims of child abuse, this will be a bitter blow as justice has eluded them.

‘Speaking openly for the first time since their appointment’
Oh really…..and how many years ago was this group set up?? Why did they not speak up before?
The hatchet must be getting a bit blunt now JEP.

Small Money # 4 – I am not sure I comprehend your comment, “Frankly its too late , we are crying over spilt milk.” For the true victims of abuse, it’s a lot more than spilt milk.
I am not sure what expectations these people had of the ‘Coconut Detective’, but his unfulfilled promises will obviously have led to the breakdown of trust with the S.o.J.P.
The police will have had – and still have – a lot of bridge building to do. Lenny Harper would have been better off engaging before opening his mouth.

As a taxpayer, and therefore a direct contributor to their wages, i want answers!!!
I also want people fired who failed completely to do their job.
Or the Jersey alternative…a brush under the carpet job and everyone keeps their job!

#8 Jambo – The problem with the States of Jersey is that they are cursed with a strange phenomenom. The scientific name escapes me but simply put, it is this:-
The Buck never stops anywhere!
