Jersey Fish Festival
Monday 19th July 2010, 2:58PM BST.
ISLANDERS had a taste of life at sea on Saturday at the Jersey Fish Festival.
The family event at Victoria Pier was organised by local fishermen and merchants, who took the day off to celebrate Jersey’s fishing heritage.
One of the higlights was the man-powered flight competition which was won by a craft called Desperate Times, piloted by Stevie Leonard (24). His four team-mates, Jason Thébault, Alex Bayley, Matt Falloon and Matthew Carré, who set off red flares at the back of the plane as they pushed it off the pier, jumped into the water after their captain went down.
