Probe into police methods cost £1.1 million

IINVESTIGATING the management of the historical abuse inquiry and the setting up of secret police files on States Members cost the taxpayer more than £1.1m, it was revealed in the States yesterday.
The Wiltshire Police inquiry, which found that former police chief Graham Power failed to control spending during the historical abuse inquiry, cost £572,000.
The inquiry into Operation Blast, in which the police compiled files on States Members, cost £295,000, and the cost of covering for the suspended Mr Power was £234,000. An inquiry by St Helier-based accountants BDL Alto into the expenses claimed during the abuse inquiry cost £64,000.

GBP64,000 to investigate expenses, and what do they find? Meals at the Bombay Brasserie and Sheppards totalling about GBP900, which may or may not have legitimate reasons (we haven’t yet heard the other side).
Well that seems like money well spent!!!!

Shocking waste of money, and does not include the time costs of the many states employees/officers involved. – the overall cost is probably much closer to £2M.
