ICC European Division I champions Jersey completed a clean sweep of victories on their début in the top flight yesterday, with a 116-run victory against Italy at the FB Fields.

They were already champions after Saturday’s victory over Scotland, although that fact, due to a rule change to keep the tournament in line with the ICC World Cricket League, was kept from the team.

Jersey captain Peter Gough said: ‘I’m glad we weren’t told we had won the tournament before we played today; I found out immediately afterwards and I’m glad I did not know earlier as I was totally focused on helping the lads win again today.’
