Jersey shot-putter to miss Olympics

JERSEY shot-putter Jamie Stevenson has had his hopes of competing in the London Olympics dashed after being given a two-year ban from the sport under anti-doping rules.
The 20-year-old from Trinity and another shot-putter, Kieren Kelly, who were trained in Loughborough by Geoff Capes, the former world’s strongest man and Commonwealth champion, refused to take a drug test in January.

There is no evidence they took anything. They were being asked to be tested in what they truely believed to be inadquet and non standard testing conditions and refused to give samples.
Fair play to themt to stand by their convictions even if the outcome has not been in their favour.
