JERSEY’S team for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi is 33 strong, with eight sports represented and two of them, bowls and shooting, providing over half the number of competitors.

The Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey’s representation is swelled considerably further by 22 officials, including team managers, coaches and medical support teams, to a total of 55, though the number of competitors could be reduced to 31 if international badminton players Elizabeth Cann and Mariana Agathangelou are selected by England later this week.

Two officials to every three competitors? That seems a typical Jersey way of doing things.
