Let-off for Le Main

FORMER Housing Minister Terry Le Main has escaped punishment for interfering in the prosecution of a friend – and will be allowed to stand for a ministerial position again.
The Senator resigned last month after writing to the Royal Court in support of property developer Frank Venton, who was facing charges of breaching the Housing Law.
In a report distributed to States Members yesterday, Chief Minister Terry Le Sueur says that the former minister had ‘undoubtedly’ breached the Ministerial Code of Conduct – but should be given ‘guidance and training’ rather than subjected to punishment.
