Why not broaden the qualifications for the post of Lieutenant-Governor?

‘In our celebrity-dominated culture, why not broaden the qualifications to encompass former politicians, entertainers, television personalities and rock stars?

Lord Mandelson is looking for a new job once his book-signing tour of the British Isles is over. Or how about the globe-trotting former PM, Tony Blair? Not likely candidates, as both are far too big fish for our little pond, and having to sit seven-and-a-half inches below the Bailiff would dent their mega egos.’
